Special precaution needs to be taken when travelling with food allergies or intolerances. Some tips before travelling include:

• Calling the airline to make sure that they can accommodate your special requirements

• If you are severely allergic don’t forget to take your Epipen and keep it handy during the flight and stay

• Take your own snacks for the flight just in case

• Ask local support groups or organizations at your destination for tips, they can be very helpful

• Try buying fresh food at local markets
